The unfortunate turn of events started last week when Santa Monica Studio and Sony sent review copies to a lucky few. The earlier leaks of God of War: Ragnarok didn’t reveal much of the game’s plot. However, the more recent footage and photos are much more telling of the game’s plot. This time, it’s not the reviewers who are the source of the leaks. According to reports, a retailer in the United States had “accidentally” released a handful of copies of God of War: Ragnarok before November 9....

Sony Japan Studio released the cult classic JRPG just as it prepared to close the lifecycle of the PS1 and focus on the newly-introduced follow-up, PS2. The Legend of Dragoon wasn’t the biggest hit among audiences or critics at launch. But, the game’s popularity grew over the years to the point that fans have been asking for a sequel or at least a remake or remaster for modern consoles. A little over two decades later and this might be happening soon....

Pierre Dandumont uploaded a video online showing him running Mac OS 9.2 on a Wii. It’s in French, so you’ll have to use Google Translate to understand. But, Dandumont does an excellent job of explaining the process. As expected, the workaround isn’t straightforward nor is it convenient at all. Dandumont achieved the “impossible” by running a Linux-based OS on the Wii’s PowerPC chip. As it’s a close relative to the PowerPC processors used in the Mac G3s way back then, the Wii theoretically could run a Mac-on Linux....

Over the years, hardcore gamers have taken to the Nurburgring to challenge themselves. For example, Drew Hanslow drove 200 laps around the Nurburgring in 27 hours last year to raise money for the charity, Speed of Sight. Another YouTuber, Super GT, did a similar thing a while back as well. But, while these players often had a goal in mind, ‘firefox_gaming’ doesn’t. The Redditor went 200 laps around the 24-hour layout of Nurburgring....

According to the German website, Games Wirtschaft, the console manufacturer is joining Nintendo, Take-Two Interactive, and Activision Blizzard, as companies that will not attend the event. But, don’t worry. While Gamescom’s organizers have not published a full list of attendees yet, they are claiming that 250 companies will appear this year, including Bandai Namco as well as THQ Nordic. Square Enix’s Triangle Strategy was originally released exclusively for Nintendo Switch earlier this year. The game is similar to Final Fantasy Tactics, also published by Square Enix. Triangle Strategy is developed by Artdink under a talented team led by Tomoya Asano. The same team is also responsible for popular recent releases such as the Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent and Bravely Default series. Like the Octopath Traveler and Bravely Default, the new HD-2D game garnered many positive reviews, and it was only right for it to be released for PC players as well....

Take-Two Interactive CEO, Strauss Zelnick, is a fan of the buyout. Zelnick even went as far as to call Microsoft as an “ally” in an interview with The Wrap. According to Zelnick, a “more powerful” Microsoft is good for the entire industry. Zelnick is also open to the competition, saying it’s ultimately up to the consumer to decide. Zelnick adds that gamers will “show up” if there’s a good title, regardless of who makes it....

Although the Polish video game developer has released dozens of games over the years, it has stuck to just one IP since 2015 - Dying Light. After releasing Dying Light 2 to mixed but expected critical reviews, Techland is now working on its first IP for years and it’s actually pretty good. The Polish studio confirmed that it’s working on an “unannounced AAA Open World Action-RPG in a fantasy setting,” which sounds a lot like Dying Light but with magic and swords....

Having said that, the DCEU just made headlines for all the wrong reasons this week after Ezra Miller, the lead actor for the upcoming Flash film, was arrested in Hilo, Hawaii for disorderly conduct and harassment, with a couple also reportedly filing a restraining order against Miller for breaking and entering. Shortly after the rest of the world got wind of the separate incidents, Rolling Stone reported that Miller’s future in the DCEU is in jeopardy....

In a Twitter post and on the game’s official subreddit, The Division 2 social media accounts posted, “Today, we are thrilled to confirm that were will be additional content for The Division 2 released later this year!”. The Division 2 players had been assuming that the game’s fourth season was the last. That fourth season is named “End of Watch” hence it was not a reach for anyone to have assumed that Ubisoft officially abandoned the game with that season....

What is easily the biggest surprise of Episode 1 though is the arrival of Jack Alcott’s Harrison....

At just a little over 1GB, you could easily do away with update 22.02-06.00.01 with a few minutes of your time, depending on your connection speeds. As for what it brings, Sony is claiming “improved system performance” for those who want to probe further. Given that it is the first system software update for the month, the next one could be more substantial in size. Sony released significant improvements and changes for the new-gen console last month, including 1440p support for suitable displays....

Just in case you missed it, Techland went ahead and uploaded a short 9-second teaser for Dying Light 2 on its Twitter account. However, as short as it was, it was also ingenious. Not only was the clip creepy and weird, but it also perfectly showcased the stark contrast between the lifeless tranquility of the daytime in the game compared to the nightmarish silence of the night.
