Now that they’re both in the MCU and DCEU’s present and future, The Rock decided to have a little fun with Simu Liu.

Johnson congratulates Simu Liu at the People’s Choice Awards

Both Johnson and Liu were at the People’s Choice Awards last week after being nominated and subsequently winning. Simu, in particular, took home the award for the Action Movie Star of 2021. Then, in a later Instagram post, Johnson took the opportunity to challenge the Shang-Chi actor to a “dance with The Man in Black,” and said that Simu’s MCU alter-ego will “need a lot more than 10 Rings.” It doesn’t take an expert to know that Johnson’s “dance” was just his way of saying that he wants both of their characters to square up one day. It would be weird for two superheroes to duke it out using dance moves let alone those from different film universes. Although, Chris Pratt’s MCU character, Star-Lord, did technically rescue the universe by dancing. With that said, we’d be lying if we said that we are intrigued at the prospect of seeing these two superheroes fight each other. Of course, for that to happen, a lot of things would have to fall into place. For one, the DCEU and MCU would have to have a crossover event. Johnson previously claimed that he could make it happen along with Gal Gadot and Ryan Reynolds, so the interest is there. But, Simu’s fighting style would probably be different with Johnson’s Black Adam’s, which, by the way, we recently saw more of, thanks to recent set photos. At the end of the day, it’s best if we would just all chalk this up to just some good ol’ ribbing between two Hollywood actors. In other news, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is currently preparing for its latest film. Spider-Man: No Way Home is scheduled to premiere exclusively in theaters on December 17, 2021.
