According to the game’s developers, all the changes are based on feedback it received from the beta period. The most significant change to Modern Warfare 2 comes to enemy visibility. Previously, Modern Warfare 2 had no indicator between enemies and friendlies. Infinity Ward’s decision to remove name tags in order to make Modern Warfare 2 more realistic only made it more difficult to tell who from who. Players complained and asked Infinity Ward to bring back the name tags. The studio didn’t budge but it did come up with an alternative. The new indicator is a Diamond icon that will hopefully make enemies more visible without compromising realism. Another issue players had with Modern Warfare 2 during the beta is their tendency to blend into the background. To make operator models stand out more, Infinity Ward has made the necessary tweaks to contrast and lighting. Another aspect that Infinity Ward overhauled is the footstep audio. Enemy players’ footsteps won’t be as pronounced from afar anytime while your teammates’ footsteps got quieter as well. Finally, Infinity Ward tweaked the third-person mode. The changes will make it so that you no longer have to switch to the first-person mode when aiming down signs unless you use a high-zoom optic. As a bonus, the studio claims that Modern Warfare 2 will have a better user interface when it launches. Specifically, the developers are claiming that the improvements will make it easier to switch loadouts, among other things. But, of course, we’ll find out more as soon as Modern Warfare 2 comes out on Friday, October 28. According to Activision Blizzard, Modern Warfare 2 will release on the PlayStation and Xbox consoles at midnight in your region, except if you’re located in West Coast North America. If you are, the game will unlock as soon as it’s midnight on the East Coast, which is around 9:00 PT on the West Coast. If you’re on the PC, the Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer release time is the same worldwide at the following times:

UK - 5:00 AM BST Europe - 6:00 AM CEST East Coast US - Midnight EDT West Coast US - 9:00 PM PDT

Activision Blizzard and Infinity Ward are warning players against changing their console region settings to access Modern Warfare 2 early. Instead of early access, you might find yourself locked out of Modern Warfare 2 entirely until its official launch time in your region.
