Starting in October, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and Xbox Live Gold members will no longer receive Xbox 360 titles. Here is what Microsoft had to say in its latest email to users: Games with Gold is a long-time Microsoft program where the company gives away two Xbox One games and two Xbox 360 games to Xbox Live Gold and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers each month. However, Microsoft sometimes replaces one of the Xbox 360 titles with an original Xbox title. It is still unknown if Microsoft will add two Xbox One games in place of the Xbox 360 games or if the company will downsize the Games with Gold freebies to just three or even two Xbox One titles. We’ve seen Microsoft make changes to Xbox Live Gold in recent years like when Microsoft consolidated Xbox Live Gold into Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. The dissolution of the Xbox 360 games offering is just the latest change. Xbox Live Gold is a direct competitor to the former PlayStation Plus, which is now known as the Essential tier. After Sony made several changes to how PS Plus worked, fans are hoping that Microsoft will do the same. Specifically, some are asking for Microsoft to make do with Xbox Live Gold and fully integrate it into the Game Pass. We don’t know if Microsoft will do what audiences want or not. But, we doubt that this is part of the company’s priority. Speaking of the Game Pass, Microsoft just announced a massive slate of games coming to its popular video game subscription service. This must be the company’s attempt to keep audiences in the loop after delaying Starfield and Redfall.
