That’s not all; a tweet from the official Steam Twitter account also implies that Call of Duty is coming back to Steam for the first time in years. Activision’s marquee franchise was a mainstay on Valve’s popular digital games distribution platform before the controversial publisher made it exclusive to Battle.net starting in 2018 with Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. Regardless of what happens with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 on June 8, we’ll look back on it as the end of an era. The upcoming Call of Duty installment will likely be the final big release before Activision becomes part of Microsoft’s Xbox Game Studios.
