Netflix makes its games more available and accessible
A few months ago, Netflix confirmed that it wanted to add games as part of its subscription. A few weeks later, Netflix launched a pilot test in Poland. Fast forward to today and Netflix just confirmed that it’s going to release more games to even more people in Spain and Italy. Unlike Netflix’s other previous tie-ins, the video game experience is built directly into the app. This means that players can install the video games directly on their phones like downloading a movie for offline viewing. However, Netflix’s games currently work by moving gamers over to the game’s app; the games don’t launch directly from the main Netflix app yet. With that said, Netflix now has five different games for players to choose from: Shooting Hoops, Card Blast, Teeter Up, Stranger Things: 1984, and Stranger Things 3.

Unlike in the past, there is now a separate gaming section in the bottom navigation bar. The change makes it easier for people to find the games that Netflix is offering. If you’re worried about paying more for the service, don’t be. Netflix already confirmed that it is going to add games as part of the regular subscription service. Of course, we’re not ruling out any pricing changes going forward either. Ultimately, Netflix will roll out its games to a wider audience. Just don’t expect this to happen anytime soon. Netflix is biding its time and testing its games at a limited capacity. This way, it can gather as much data as possible before it launches the service internationally.
