While the verdict is still out on whether the WWE will eventually recognize Roman Reigns’ stay as the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion, which currently stands at a little over 740 days (and counting), it’s safe to say that the Tribal Chief still has a lot of catching up to do to Hogan. If we believe the recent reports, Reigns could come closest to any wrestler. Reigns will hold on to the unified title belt for at least the end of the year. WrestlingNews.co claims that the WWE plans to retain Reigns as the company’s top dog for at least until WrestleMania 39. This is at least 200 days away from now and would give Reigns the rare chance to join Hulk in the “1,000-day club.” Keep in mind that the report states that this was Vince McMahon’s original plan. Now that Triple H is in charge, things could potentially change. Although the consensus is for Triple H to continue what McMahon started, we should always be open to other possibilities. It’s believed that WWE was considering letting Reigns lose to Drew McIntyre last weekend at the Clash at the Castle. However, the current vision isn’t exactly half-bad - Reigns would go on to wrestle and beat The Rock at WrestleMania, after which he’ll lose the belt after and go become one of the good guys. Reigns is scheduled to defend his title against an undetermined opponent on November 5 at Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia. WWE is eyeing Seth Rollins and Kevin Owens as Reigns’ next opponents.
